One-component polyurethane sealant is a solvent-free, one-component, room-temperature curing sealant. This sealant is paste-like and can be extruded or applied. It has anti-sag properties and does not flow when filling vertical and top seams. The cured sealant layer is rubbery and elastic. It adheres to metals, rubber, wood, concrete components, ceramics, glass, etc. Sealants are materials used to fill gaps (holes, joints, seams, etc.), combining both bonding and sealing functions.
“One-component” is mainly relative to “two-component”. There is a two-component polyurethane adhesive that, when used, needs to mix components A and B in a uniform ratio to achieve the effect of bonding and sealing; while the one-component is used directly, it is convenient, simple, and easy to construct. “Moisture curing” means that the one-component polyurethane adhesive utilizes trace amounts of water vapor in the air to react and cure, reacting with the active groups on the surface of the substrate to achieve bonding. Compared with traditional silicone adhesives, polyurethane adhesives have more than 3 times the elongation and more than 2 times the bonding strength. The one-component polyurethane adhesive is non-toxic after complete curing and can be used in drinking water projects, which has been tested.
